State Gun Laws

Below is a list of gun laws common to all states. State specific laws are not listed.

The “Friendliness Score” is an objective way to determine which states are the friendliest to law-abiding gun owners. The higher the score, the friendlier that state is to gun owners. As expected, Commiefornia, the People’s Republic of New Jersey and Soviet New York all have very low scores because of their bullshit gun law restrictions.

The Friendliness Rank is how states compare against each other. States with the same Friendliness Score will get the same rank.

Point Values for Friendliness Score

“Issuance Policy” – 150 points for “Constitutional Carry”, 100 points for “Unrestricted”, 50 points for “Shall Issue” and 0 points for “May Issue”, because “May Issue” states are usually a “no issue” unless the applicant knows someone.

“Permit Required” – 10 points for “No” and 5 points for “Yes” because requiring a permit is not a show stopper to gun ownership.

“Registration of Firearm” – 10 points for “No” and 0 points for “Yes” because no gun owner should have to register their guns with any governmental agency.

“Open Carry Allowed” – 10 points for “Yes” and 5 points for “No” because carrying open or concealed is not a showstopper to gun ownership.

“Background Checks On Private Gun Sales” – 10 points for “No” and 5 points for “Yes” because requiring a background check to family members is wrong, as most family members know if someone within the family is legally not entitled to own a gun.

“Magazine Size Restriction” – 10 points for “No” and 0 points for “Yes”, because putting a restriction on the number of rounds a magazine can hold is not going to stop a sociopath from committing a crime. It only hurts law-abiding gun owners.
