To prevent shipping a lost or stolen firearm, GL Consulting will ONLY ship firearms from private parties if the shipping party can show proof of ownership. This can be a copy of the original sales receipt containing retailer letterhead/logo, identifying the firearm’s model and serial number, a copy of form 4473 showing them taking original possession, or a signed affidavit, including model and serial number, indicating that to the best of the shipping party’s knowledge, the firearm is not lost or stolen. This form must be completed and sent to GL Consulting, before any appointment can be made for shipping.
All firearms MUST be shipped to an FFL or other entity licensed by the ATF, no exceptions! A copy of our license will be included in the package for the receiving FFL’s benefit. You will only be permitted to complete the checkout process if a valid FFL address is entered in the Shipping Address area of the checkout page. It is your responsibility to first contact the receiving FFL to determine if they will accept receipt of the firearm(s) you intend to ship. All firearms will be shipped via UPS, which requires firearms to shipped using “Next Day Air”, “Next Day Air Early” or “Next Day Air Saver” shipping classes selected by the shipping party upon checkout. The actual shipping rate will be calculated upon checkout after the receiving FFL is chosen.
The UPS shipping rates are based on the following weights and dimensions:
- Handguns – 4 pounds and box dimensions of 12″x12″x2″
- Long Guns – 7 pounds and box dimensions of 28″x12″x2″
If the firearm you intend to ship is greater than any of the above weights and dimensions, please contact GL Consulting, for additional arrangements. Items exceeding the above dimensions without previous arrangements will not be shipped.
Our fee for this shipping service is $20 for handguns and $25 for long guns.
